Since the launch of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a diverse cast of characters, and a gripping narrative including celestial beings, fiends, and sinister influences expanding in influence within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Key plot points for the third episode of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
The latest chapter finished on a huge suspense moment and revealed the first table of adventurers who will split off from the central cast to undertake their independent quest, apart from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team includes Teor Pridesire (played by the voice actor), Thimble (the talented performer), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Given an extensive roster, it was evident from the outset that maintaining everyone at one table would be unworkable.
This explains, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, connecting the personal journeys before dividing into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Strategists, and Questers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
According to the DM, the Soldiers table is for players who prefer a classically intense battle-oriented story mode where peaceful solutions are rare.
Upon first impression, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might look mismatched, but the actions of the latest installment show why these five characters are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the party understands precisely where to proceed after a violent opening clash with the antagonists.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose death started the narrative’s action—manipulated the foes for his personal gain, breaking into the secret base, striking the character, and taking all the magical artifacts to auction.
The traitor then settled his obligations and fled to a fortified location in the northern region, north of the city, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each character has a personal reason to depart the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and closest confidant, wants vengeance.
- The adventurer has experience in the northern area and advises that it is a dangerous place.
- The strong character and Wicander, having disobeyed his house’s orders to kill the target and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their position as key figures in the powerful family could help the party access areas they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, Teor pledged a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his salvation and will now go with him everywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are wanted by the rulers that rule the setting for a range of causes, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The rogue and The hero are known criminals.
- Tyranny and The healer defied House Halovar and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- The target is marked for death by the clan.
This means them few options but to head to the remote area in quest for the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
According to the recent installment’s post-show segment, we find out that the warrior group will be absent the following episode, leaving the rest of the cast members to form the Seekers and Strategists tables.
Audiences can look forward to finding out which players will be assigned to which table in the season’s final introductory chapter, released on October 24.
